Chickenpox Party is a Mississippi Blues Rock band from Brookhaven, MS who’ve partnered with bass player Joey Jones, owner and chief sound engineer of Aria Recording Studio in Atlanta, GA (ariarecordingstudio.com) to produce their debut self titled album on 10/30/15.

Chickenpox Party consists of Gregory Smith (frontman, guitar, vocals, lyrics), Brodie Davis (drums), and Joey Jones (bass, recording, production). The trio collaborated to produce a rhythmic, guitar heavy debut album drawing from a wide range of musical influences.

The sonic landscape the trio has created provides an effective vessel for Smith’s lyrical concepts and are known for being heavy yet melodic. Hearkening back to the album centric releases popular in the 60s and 70s, this release is best taken as a whole piece rather than the “cherry picked” style of many modern releases.
